Cultural Studies
The graduate program in Cultural Studies derives its intellectual
identity and post-disciplinary orientation from anthropology, history,
philosophy, psychology, and sociology, as well as from multiculturalism,
ethnography, feminist theory, and other specialized forms of inquiry.
Students are expected to obtain a significant grounding in the
allied, parent disciplines.
The program prepares students to teach in Cultural Studies and
Social Foundations of Education within higher education and/or to
conduct work in these fields within more applied educational, social
and political settings
